Exceptional

Overall satisfaction: room, facilities, staff, breakfast, pool, bar and restaurant. Nice spot for the sunset and swimming in the sea (which is not the case on the other side of the island). Pricelist is correct, not more expensive than restaurants outside.

All the staff, especially the Kanu helper "Gaffar" was very helpful. I am in a wheelchair and cannot stand and walk, so he carries me on his shoulder and makes it possible that I can ride Kanu with him..

Restaurant service was very friendly but the food took a bit of time to serve.

Nice Hotel

The resort is lovely and really well maintained. It's in a good location and the beach is nice. The staff are really helpful and the restaurant food is good for breakfast and dinner. The hotel transfer was a benefit as there aren't any taxis waiting at the pier.

The dining area would benefit from some fans as it gets very hot.

Wonderful place, people, hotel and breakfast. A place to return to.

Great breakfast - ample selection of fruits, hot & cold, egg station, coffee etc. All you need. Very nice welcome to the hotel and the same friendly atmosphere until leaving. Spotless clean room and just great facilities and people. Location directly at the stunning beach is just wonderful. Loved it.

Perhaps the wifi, but did not use it that much - went roaming instead, which worked fine.

We had a relaxing stay in this gorgeous, quiet resort.

Lovely setting. The resort was very well maintained. Sparkling pools. Spacious, clean, comfortable room. There were plenty of loungers by the beach and round the huge pool.

The exercise room was very sparse. Nice for yoga though!

Great stay in a good resort

I originally booked this property for three days, but extended over Christmas as I liked it instantly. The pool is great and the beach being so close is amazing. The staff are generally friendly, but there are a few issues with communication.

It’s not a 5* hotel. WiFi very temperamental. There was a Christmas Eve ‘special occasion’ which was very poorly organised, but in the end they did refund me the very expensive cost. However, as a Westerner, it ruined the Christmas Eve feeling.

Great family hotel at a stunning beach.

The hotel is located directly at the beach with a stunning view of the ocean. The stuff was always helpful and taking good care of us and the property. We had an amazing time in this family friendly resort.

There was a tiny bit of moldy smell in rooms at the first floor that’s why we’ve changed rooms (what was no problem).

Absolute wonderful stay

This resort is really top notch. Well maintained. Very hospitable staff. We really felt at home here

The temperature sensor on the air conditioning stayed high even though it was already much cooler so it kept cooling and it made the room way too cold. This made us have to manage the temperature by turning it on and off manually which was annoying especially at night and when travelling with a baby.

This hotel is the best in the area, I feel I can say this as I have stayed in another top hotel in the area and the Royal yao yai is the best as has such a personal feel, the staff are accommodating, friendly and professiona but also have such great sense of humour. I stayed in the Royal room and its perfect, so clean, modern and beautiful white sheets. Bed and pillow so comfortable. View beautiful. Thank you to all staff at the Royal yao yai Hotel.

Extremely friendly staff, directly at the beach, big clean room, pool with waterslides, beach bar... Small stores, restaurants and services nearby. Everything was perfect here!

There was a misunderstanding with my payment on booking.com's side, however, the resort's staff promptly and professionally solved that for me

Very nice hotel on a quiet beautiful beach.

Breakfasts were amazing. Variety, taste and service. Room was nice, clean as well as the bathroom. Beach in front of the hotel is beautiful as well as the hotel garden and pool.

Aircondition was a little week and was not able to keep set temperature.

What was the highlight of Royal Yao Yai Island Beach Resort

Overall good, but needs a little more attention to detail.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room and bathroom were very spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was sometimes a buffet and sometimes from an order card, but in both cases it was plentiful. The restaurant is on the terrace which had a lovely view out to the ocean, but it was also a little hot at times. The pool is very large and refreshing. The hotel is right next to a beautiful stretch of beach, which can be accessed directly. At the time of the year we visited, the resort was very quiet and there were always plenty of beach-side and pool-side loungers. The hotel is a short walk from restaurants.

The most significant issue we had was a constant smell in the room. We brought this to the attention of the reception, who only misted the area with air freshener. They promised to clean the area of the floor from which the smell seemed to be coming. They didn't: on our last day we moved the bed and found a spilled liquid under the bed, which was the cause of the problem. The internet was slow at times, and often disconnected. The shower itself is nice and large, but the water does not maintain a temperature. The restaurant food was quite expensive, and the dishes we ordered did not come with the elements listed in the menu. On one occasion, breakfast items were mouldy, which you would not expect of a hotel of this standard.
